Vietnamese students across Australian got together at a gala night at the New South Wales University on August 1.

The students took the occasion to show off their talents in singing, dancing, poem reciting and acting, with a team from Curtin University wining the first prize for their play “Warming hearts” that dealt with the lives of young people away from home, their difficulties, worries and homesickness.

Addressing the event, Tran Quoc Khanh, Vietnam ’s Deputy Consul General in Sydney said the gala was an opportunity for students in Australia to exchange information and boost mutual understanding in study and daily life.

The gala is just one of various annual events held by the Vietnamese students’ Association in Australian, besides the V-nite cultural festival to introduce to foreign friends about the Vietnamese people and land and the Easter Sport games./.
