Under the Japan-Vietnam Goodwill Exchange Programme, a delegation of 12 Vietnamese high school students concluded the 11-day visit in Japan on July 2.
This annual programme is jointly held by the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Japanese Association for International Manpower Development of Medium and Small Enterprises (IMM).
Speaking at the farewell party on July 1, Kyoei Yanagisawa, President of IMM called on these students to bring knowledge collected during this visit into the national construction and development, adding that he hoped they will become friendship bridge between the two countries and have chances to return Japan for studies.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Phu Binh spoke highly of the programme in strengthening mutual understanding between people of the two countries as well as IMM chairman’ initiative in launching campaign of donating 1,000 wheelchairs for the Vietnamese disabled on the occasion of 1000 th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
Through the programme, Vietnamese students will have an opportunity to learn about the Japanese culture, people and country.
Le Tuyet Mai, Deputy Director of Vietnam Children’s Fund and head of the delegation said that two students attending the programme last year received scholarships for study in Japa./.
