Prague (VNA) – Deputy head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education Lam Thi Phuong Thanh has praised successes reaped by the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic during her trip to the country from November 21-23.

She expressed her hope that the community will integrate more deeply into the host society while preserving traditional language and culture.

Nguyen Duy Nhien, President of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic, said since its inception 17 years ago, the association has encouraged the Vietnamese to learn the Czech language and study culture, custom, law and business models of the European country.

At the same time, the association has taught the mother tongue for Vietnamese children in the Czech Republic and maintained traditional culture and custom among the community.

As many as 65,000 Vietnamese are living in the Czech Republic./.
