Vietnam's swim team have earned two slots in the second Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing (China) next month, the International Swimming Federation has announced.

Huynh The Vi and Lam Quang Nhut will compete in the men's 200m breaststroke and men's 400m freestyle, respectively.

So far, Vietnamese athletes have earned 14 places to compete in this world tournament. Five spots belong to swimmers.

The second Summer Youth Olympic Games will take place in Nanjing on August 16-28 and will bring together more than 3,800 young athletes from all National Olympic Committees.

Following the 28 sports on the Olympic programme, athletes aged from 15 to 18 will take part in high-level competition while taking part in a series of cultural and educational activities off the field.-VNA
