Flash floods, which hit   Laos   on September 29, left 13 Vietnamese workers dead and missing and 10 others injured while working at the construction site of a Vietnamese-invested hydro-power project.  

The toll was confirmed by a senior Lao delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Douangchay Phichith after a field trip to the scene in Attapeu   province  of  Laos.  

The Vietnam-Laos Electricity Joint-stock Company, executive of the Secaman 1 hydro-power project, on October 1 sent a delegation to the scene and worked with Lao authorities at all levels to aid recovery efforts in the wake of the disaster.  

Typhoon Ketsana has killed at least three Laotians in southern provinces and caused heavy material damages, reported the Lao Agency for Disaster Control.  

The Lao Government has decided to disburse 10 billion kip and send 1,000 tonnes of rice as relief aid to storm victims./.
