Vo Van Thuong, First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist YouthUnion, made the statement at a talk with his counterpart Luidmila Alamoon May 18 during his visit to Cuba .

At the talk, Thuong also expressed the Vietnamese youth’sdetermination to strengthen the solidarity and the traditionalcooperative ties with the Cuba Communist Youth Union (CCYU).

For her part, Alamo thanked the Communist Party, the state and thepeople of Vietnam for their solidarity with and support to the Cubanpeople. She briefed the Vietnamese guests on the result of the CCYU’s 9th congress in early April.

“The Cuban young generation would protect Socialism to their lastbreath,” she said, adding that this is the only choice in order toachieve development, social justice and freedom.

The two sides also shared experiences in strengthening theirorganisations and the youth’s leadership role and discussed ways toeducate and train the young generation in the cause of nationalconstruction and protection in the two countries.

Same day, Thuong and his delegation paid homage to José Martí andMelba Hernandez, the hero and heroine of the Cuban people and visitedthe Latin America University of Health and the Camilo CienfuegosUniversity./.

452 lawmakers, or 94.56% of the total number of deputies present, voted in favour the revised Law on Corporate Income Tax, while the amended Excise Tax Law was adopted with 448 out of 454 deputies present voting in favour, accounting for 93.72% of the total.
