General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong has said the security forces of Vietnam and Laos should enhance their mutual assistance and work more closely with each other to ensure social order and security in each country.

The Vietnamese Party leader also asked the two sides to effectively implement signed agreements during his meeting with a delegation from the Lao Ministry of Public Security, led by Minister Thongbanh Sengaphone, in Hanoi on December 27.

The Party chief hailed the visit by the delegation and congratulated them on the achievements made by the Lao people in all areas over recent years.

He expressed his pleasure at the development of the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos, which he added, saw important contributions by the security forces of the two countries.

Minister Thongbanh Sengaphone congratulated Vietnam on its remarkable achievements in internal and external relations and thanked Vietnam for its assistance and support over the years.

He informed the host of the Lao situation, the results of cooperation between the Lao and Vietnamese Ministries of Public Security and the outcomes of the talks between the two ministries.

He affirmed to work closely with the Vietnamese side to effectively carry out the signed agreements.-VNA
