Vietnam’s bank helps Cambodian flood victims

The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) donated 130,000 USD to help flood victims in Cambodia at a ceremony in Phnom Penh on November 11.
The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) donated 130,000 USD to help flood victims in Cambodia at a ceremony in Phnom Penh on November 11.

In the presence of Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Ngo Anh Dung and Minister attached to the Cambodian Prime Minister Sry Thamarong, head of BIDV representative office in Cambodia Nguyen Dinh Duong handed over 100,000 USD to Minister-Secretary General of the Council for the Development of Cambodia Sok Chenda.

Duong also presented President of the Association of Cambodians of Vietnamese Origin Chau Van Chi with 30,000 USD.

Earlier, the bank gave relief aid in the form of essential goods worth 70,000 USD to Cambodian flood victims.

The recent flooding in Cambodia has killed more than 100 people and affected the lives of more than 1.8 million others. Over 10,000 hectare of rice and other crops have been submerged, causing an economic damage worth 1 billion USD.-VNA
