A national sculpture exhibition opened at the Hanoi Museum on December 11, showcasing the best works created by local artists over the past decade.

The 286 pieces on show are made from various kinds of materials such as bronze, stone, wood, steel and iron and arranged in the form of installation art.

The exhibits manifest the artisans’ creativity in promoting traditional values in the globalisation process, said Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vuong Duy Bien.

They feature every aspect of the daily life such as environmental issues, the relationship between human beings and nature and society, family, friendship, motherhood, peace and war, to name a few.

Human values and life philosophies are vividly reflected through a number of works such as “Rural Story” by Cu Kao Khai, “Peace on Island ” by Tran Viet Ha, “The Gap” by Huynh Thanh Phu and “Seesaw” by Phan Van Tien.

The exhibition, the fifth of its kind, is being organised by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition, the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, and the Hanoi Museum .
