Mexico (VNA) - Vietnam’s handicrafts such as Non la (conical hats), ao dai (traditional long dress), films and posters displayed at a festival in Mexico City have helped Mexican people get an insight into Vietnam’s culture and history.

The festival, which highlighted culture identities of oriental nations, was held on February 23 and 24 in the Mexican capital. It attracted the participation of many other Asian countries, including Japan, the Republic of Korea, India, China, Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia.

Vietnam’s booth attracted thousands of visitors. Video clips about Vietnam and attractive tourism destinations screened at the event helped international visitors understand more about the country, and they were interested in tours to Vietnam to discover the friendly and hospitable nation.

The organizers said the event contributed to promote the oriental culture to international friends, thus further tightening friendship and mutual understanding among countries’ people.

The festival lured nearly 7,000 visitors.-VNA
