The Vietnamese Consulate General in Hong Kong and Macao (China) hosted a banquet on September 3 to celebrate the 70 th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19 ) and National Day (September 2).

In his speech, Vietnamese Consul General Hoang Chi Trung affirmed that Vietnam continually treasures the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China, as evidenced by regular visits of leaders.

In the first half of 2015, trade between Vietnam and Hong Kong hit 7.6 billion USD. As of late June, 2015, Hong Kong had 918 projects worth more than 16 billion USD in Vietnam, ranking sixth among 103 countries and territories investing in the Southeast Asian nation.

On September 1, the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines launched an open golf tournament in Hong Kong, attracting nearly 30 Vietnamese golfers living or travelling in the host country.

On September 2, the Vietnamese embassy in Pakistan held a ceremony celebrating the occasion, drawing 400 representatives from the Pakistani government, local enterprises and diplomatic corps, including Minister of Trade Khurram Dastgir Khan.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Pakistan Nguyen Xuan Luu appreciated the recent strong development of relations between the two countries, adding that the targeted 500 million USD in bilateral trade is achievable this year.

For his part, Minister Khan spoke highly of Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements over the past 70 years. He stressed that Vietnam is attractive to Pakistani businesses and hoped the bilateral relations would be further strengthened.
