People from the UK and Europe like Vietnamese seafood for its abundance and diversity, said Quayside International’s Development Director David Hilton.

Speaking with the daily Hanoi Moi reporter, Hilton emphasised the importance of the Vietnamese and Southeast Asian seafood markets and their close link with the UK .

UK and other European businesses have found their investment opportunities in Vietnam’s seafood sector, he said.

However, Vietnam’s seafood exports to the UK are facing challenges for its strict requirements on products’ quality as well as processing and preservation techniques, he noted. Furthermore, UK attaches its importance to delivery time and partners’ liabilities in case of incidents, Hilton said.

He took the occasion to suggest Vietnam’s seafood businesses improve their processing and preservation techniques so as to increase their competitiveness.

Quayside International, a leading seafood group in the UK and Europe which imports and exports thousands tonnes of seafood each year, has invested around 6 million British pounds in Vietnam over the past 10 years./.
