Outgoing British Ambassador to Vietnam Antony Stokes stated that the two countries have enjoyed strong development in all fields when bidding farewell to President Truong Tan Sang in Hanoi on June 30.

The diplomat said the strategic partnership allows both countries to reap productive connections in trade, science and technology and counter-crime and expressed belief that the ties will grow more strongly to generate bilateral, regional and global benefits.

He held out hopes that both sides will step up education cooperation, especially the establishment of the Vietnam-UK University in central Da Nang city while mentioning the British Council’s provision of numerous scholarships to Vietnamese students and projects targeting children.

Meanwhile, President Sang told his guest that Vietnam has always kept in mind the support and assistance of international friends to the national development.

He affirmed that Vietnam always yearns for peace and works to be a reliable partner of all countries across the world.

He agreed with Stokes that more policies need to be created to provide a prerequisite for the development of young generations.

President Sang was confident that the relations between the two countries will record strides in the coming time.-VNA
