The Vietnam-Russia oil and gas joint venture Vietsovpetro on Jan. 5 extracted the 190 millionth tonne of oil at the Bach Ho (White Tiger) and Rong (Dragon) oil fields off the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

The company plans to produce at least 6.31 million tonnes of products this year.

Last year, Vietsovpetro tapped 6.4 million tonnes of oil, 200 tonnes higher than its initially-set target and earned 3.93 billion USD in revenues. Last year’s production output has brought the total in the 2006-2010 period to 38.4 million tonnes./.
