A gallery specialising in the modern art of Thailand and Vietnam opened in Bangkok on April 27.

The BaBaBa Gallery, owned by Tina Vanichtheeranont, displayed art, antiques and historic archives.

Vanichtheeranont first started collecting Vietnamese paintings 20 years ago. He now owns 2,000 pieces by renowned Vietnamese artists.

His valuable collection is exhibited at the gallery.

For the last few years the Thai collector has organised several exhibitions in Bangkok to promote Vietnamese art. He has also brought leading Thai artists to Vietnam to paint and hold exhibitions.

To celebrate the opening of the gallery, several paintings by artists of both countries will be put on display.-VNA
