Hanoi (VNA) - The first batch of VinFast Lux cars have shipped to 14 countries in four continents for quality and safety tests.

The testing process will last from now to August 2019, ensuring all VinFast products meet the high standards of Europe and the world before being sold on the market.

A total of 155 VinFast cars are scheduled for quality testing, as the first trial production batch, of which 113 are completed vehicles and 42 semi-finished cars. The transport process is divided into several phases, to 14 countries in Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and Vietnam to ensure VinFast cars respond well to all climate and traffic conditions.

VinFast vehicles will undergo more than 100 tests on the testing system of the world’s largest automakers. The aim is for the cars to achieve 5-star ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme for Southeast Asian Countries), which is targeted to elevate vehicle safety standards, while meeting the high standards of Europe.

The testing centre of Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria and the Bosch factory in Australia will host the majority of the testing.

Previously, VinFast sent important components such as engines, chassis and body hulls to foreign testing centres for detailed tests. In addition, each auto part, including thousands of different components, has undergone hundreds of tests under Magna Steyr’s requirements and controls.

Kevin Fisher, head engineer of VinFast’s Lux type, said car quality was the most important part so the company was very strict and thorough in testing process, ensuring they meet the requirements of Vietnamese users.

After the testing process is over, VinFast will carry out mass production of commercial versions of Fadil and Lux models. It is expected the first customers to order these models will start receiving cars from the second quarter and the third quarter of this year, respectively.-VNA
