VinaCapital and Vina CPK company held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Ba Thien 2 Industrial Zone in the northern province of Vinh Phuc on May 31.

The 65-million USD project, built on an area of 308 hectares, was the first project for VinaCapital in northern Vietnam and was expected to be unveiled in three phases, with the first phase being carried out by Vina CPK.

Aiming to become a green, clean and environmentally friendly industrial zone, Ba Thien 2 will look to investors in light industry, electronics, high technology and production companies meeting environmental protection standards.

The industrial zone will enjoy high quality infrastructure, including two to four-lane asphalted roads, modern water and waste treatment and international standard, high-speed telecom services.

Managing Director of VinaCapital Tony Hsun expressed his belief that the project would create a model for development of industrial zones in northern provinces .

With its convenient location, Vinh Phuc province, 50 km from Hanoi, was expected to continue to attract multinational companies investing in Vietnam./.
