Hanoi (VNA) - The 2020 Vietnam Solar E-Expo is slated to be held online between October 12 and November 10 to help create business opportunities and links in the sector amid COVID-19, according to the Vietnam National Trade Fair and Advertising company (VINEXAD).

Officially endorsed by the Technology Transfer Support Center, the Technology Application & Development Agency, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the event includes a “Live Day” for online communications on October 27 and 28.

The exhibition will offer exhibitors opportunities to promote their brands and products as well as have one-on-one communications with potential customers via chat box, audio call, and video call.

The APAC Solar Energy Digital Event 2020 Vietnam Chapter, meanwhile, is scheduled for October 20-22 and will feature a virtual exhibition showcase, webinar sessions, and one-on-one online match-making networking to create a one-stop business matching platform for all industry players to share knowledge, expand business contacts, and overcome obstacles caused by the pandemic.

As of May 11, Vietnam had 92 solar and 10 wind power plants with a total capacity of nearly 6,000 MW in operation, according to the Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy.

A number have been sold partially or wholly to foreign investors from Thailand, the Philippines, China, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia./.
