A Vietnamese delegation led by Assistant to Foreign Minister Nguyen Ngoc Son attended the meeting of national representatives to the International Francophone Organisation (OIF) in Paris on Oct. 28.

The event aimed to discuss the implementation of OIF’s cooperation programme for the 2010-2013 period and put forward initiatives for drawing up OIF’s strategic framework from 2015 to 2014 and a four-year cooperation programme for the 2014-2017 period.

FM Assistant Son delivered a report reviewing the implementation of OIF’s cooperation programme for the 2010-2013 period and other cooperation programmes in Asia-Pacific, especially projects on French language teaching, technical and professional training, legal and judicial cooperation, and youth activities.

Son also put forward preliminary initiatives to map out OIF’s 10-year strategic framework and a four-year cooperation programme.

Earlier on Oct. 27, Son attended a meeting hosted by OIF to discuss measures to diversify partnership between OIF and international and regional organisations such as the United Nations; the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States, the European Union, the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation as well as other bilateral partners such as the French Development Agency and Canadian International Development Agency.

On the occasion, Son paid a courtesy call to Abdou Diouf, General Secretary of OIF and met with C. Duem, OIF Director to discuss cooperation between Vietnam and OIF in the near future./.
