According to the BrazilianMinistry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, this was the firsttime the two countries’ trade has surpassed 1 billion USD.
In 2011, Brazil exported commodities worth 794 million USD toVietnam and imported over 646 million USD worth of goods from theSoutheast Asian nation, up 71.4 percent and 36.6 percent respectively.
Brazil mainly ships animal feed, cotton,tobacco materials, corn and steel to Vietnam while Vietnam exportsfootwear, frozen fish fillets, printers, rubber, fibre, cement,headphone, auto tires and electric engines to this Latin Americaneconomy.
The ministry also said that theVietnam-Brazil trade has continuously increased since 2000, surpassingthe milestones of 100 million USD in 2005 and 1 billion USD last year./.
