VN-Brazil trade increases sharply in 2011

Two-way trade between Vietnam and Brazil reached around 1.44 billion USD in 2011, an increase of 53.8 percent compared to the previous year.

According to the BrazilianMinistry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, this was the firsttime the two countries’ trade has surpassed 1 billion USD.

In 2011, Brazil exported commodities worth 794 million USD toVietnam and imported over 646 million USD worth of goods from theSoutheast Asian nation, up 71.4 percent and 36.6 percent respectively.

Brazil mainly ships animal feed, cotton,tobacco materials, corn and steel to Vietnam while Vietnam exportsfootwear, frozen fish fillets, printers, rubber, fibre, cement,headphone, auto tires and electric engines to this Latin Americaneconomy.

The ministry also said that theVietnam-Brazil trade has continuously increased since 2000, surpassingthe milestones of 100 million USD in 2005 and 1 billion USD last year./.

According to a report released by UOB's Global Economics & Market Research Unit released on July 8, Vietnam’s real GDP grew by a robust 7.96% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2025, significantly exceeding Bloomberg’s forecast of 6.85%, UOB’s projection of 6.1%, and the revised growth figure of 7.05% in the first quarter.

Vietnam Airlines receives approval for major share issuance

Vietnam telecom giants step up 5G commercialisation, expansion

The country’s three major network providers – Viettel, VNPT and MobiFone – have so far deployed around 11,000 5G base stations, equivalent to 7.7% of existing 4G stations. These stations now cover all provinces and cities, reaching approximately 26% of the population.
