A Vietnam News Agency (VNA) delegation held talks with a delegation from Xinhua News Agency (Xinhua) on Dec. 21 in Hanoi, to promote cooperation between the two agencies.

Welcoming the Xinhua delegation’s visit to Vietnam and talking about the cooperative agreement on news exchange signed by the two agencies, VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi said the agreement contributed to promoting the traditional relations and friendship between the two countries.

He added that the two sides should prepare to sign a new cooperative agreement in 2012.

Loi affirmed that VNA will strengthen cooperation with Xinhua in the field of multimedia and promote the exchange of high-ranking visits to share management experience and correspondent professionalism.

Speaking highly of the achievements that VNA has made over the past 66 years, Xinhua Vice President Zhou Shuchun said the two agencies should strengthen cooperation in information exchange to foster mutual understanding between the two peoples.
