“.vn” domain records highest number of registrations in Southeast Asia
The “.vn” domain name has always had the highest number of registrations across Southeast Asia since 2011, the Vietnam Internet Network Information Centre said on March 5.

The domain has also been listed among the top ten in Asia-Pacific with 463,796 names as of February 27, 2018.
Of note, “.vn” has appeared on a special stamp set which was issued in late February on the occasion of the second summit between the US and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), signaling that the domain name has accompanied the country’s development and international integration in the digital era.
The domain name “.vn” is the country code top-level domain, which has been transferred by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers to Vietnam for management.
According to experts, the national domain name is protected by Vietnamese law.
When using the national domain name, enterprises will be able to prevent counterfeit numbers and also minimise the loss of communication with international partners when a fibre-optic cable breaks.-VNA
