The Vietnamese Embassy in the Republic of Korea (RoK) on May 25 requested local relevant agencies to strictly handle the case of Vietnamese bride Hoang Thi Nam , who was allegedly killed by her RoK husband.

The Embassy also required local authorities to carry out necessary measures to ensure lives and property of Vietnamese people in the RoK.

The same day, the embassy sent a message of sympathy to Nam ’s family and pledged to coordinate with local relevant agencies to hold a funeral for Nam .

On May 24, the Vietnamese Consul-General in Busan-Kyongnam, the honorable Park Soo Kwan paid tribute to Nam .

The Ho Chi Minh City Department for Foreign Affairs and the RoK Consulate General also pledged to assist Nam ’s relatives to fly to the RoK.

On May 25, the Association of RoK People in Ho Chi Minh City handed over 3,000 USD and air tickets to Nam ’s family to fly to the RoK on the day.

Hoang Thi Nam , 23, was born in the southern province of Binh Thuan . She was allegedly stabbed by her husband early on May 24 in Jeongto district in the northern province of Kyeongsang.

Her husband, Lim Chae Won, 37, has been detained by police and the case is under investigation./.
