The eighth Vietnam-France meeting on decentralised cooperation will take place in the northern port city of Hai Phong from November 4-7.

At the event, over 300 French and Vietnamese representatives will discuss and share experiences in the environment of decentralised cooperation, actions for sustainable development, training, public service and heritage culture.

In addition, the representatives will sign six new agreements to promote decentralised cooperation. Musical performances, galas and exhibitions showcasing images of localities of the two countries will also be held.

Firstly launched in late 1980s, the meeting makes positive contributions to the socio-economic development of the two countries’ localities.

At present, 52 French localities are partnering with 54 cities and provinces of Vietnam in the fields of culture, education, training, healthcare and urban planning./.
