‘The Visitor’, a story about a foreign man who can sing the Vietnamese song “Chau yeu ba” (I love you grandma), was one of the top ten hopeful at the 2012 Asian-European Short Film (AESF) Awards.
The film was made by 21 year-old Nguyen Le Hoang Viet, a student at the Hanoi National Economics University .
With the theme, ‘Connecting Asia and Europe’, the contest was organised by the AESF foundation on the 15 th anniversary of its establishment, to discover talented young film makers from Asia and Europe .
This year, 101 short films (under three minutes) from 46 countries were submitted to the competition, competing for four awards of the jury and one prize voted by audiences.
The awards ceremony will be held in Singapore on May 17.-VNA
