A seminar was held in the northern Vinh Phuc province on June 24 to discuss potential in business cooperation between Vietnam and India, highlighting the advantages of the ASEAN-India Free Trade Agreement.
Participants heard reports on trade and investment cooperation between the two countries and learned about influences and advantages of the ASEAN-India FTA, India ’s custom procedures and import policies.
Recently, Vietnam’s export structure saw changes with many new products entering the India market, including rubber, information technology hardware, electronic appliances, garment and textile.
In imports, Vietnam utilised the ASEAN-India FTA to buy materials at lower costs, effectively helping to raise product competitiveness.
Additionally, India’s recognition of the market economy status of Vietnam was expected to be an important foundation facilitating trade and business investment between the two countries./.
