Vietnam wants to develop defence cooperative ties with Japan in an increasing practical manner, bringing benefits for the two countries.
Lieut. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh made this statement at a reception for Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam, Yasuaki Tanizaki, in Hanoi on July 11.
Vinh affirmed that Vietnam was willing to host and attend the Defence Strategy Dialogue at the deputy ministerial level with Japan this year.
At the reception, the two sides agreed that the two countries’ cooperation in the field of defence is developing actively.
They also agreed that Vietnam and Japan should make good preparations for the Vietnamese Defence Minister, Gen. Phung Quang Thanh’s official visit to Japan, scheduled to take place by the end of this year./.
