At a reception for a delegation of Vietnam Red Cross (VNRC) led by its President Tran Ngoc Tang in Vientiane on Feb. 29, Phosikham said he hopes VNRC will assist its Lao counterpart in many priority fields, such as poverty reduction and coping with natural disasters to mark the 50 th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties and 35 th anniversary of the signing of Vietnam – Laos Amity and Cooperation Treaty.
President Tang said VNRC will continue sharing experience in operation, fundraising for Red Cross activities, training and human resource development.
On the occasion, VNRC presented 100,000 USD to the LRC to help implement agricultural projects in Lao localities bordering Vietnam, in a bid to promote poverty reduction.
The VNRC delegation will leave Laos on March 2.-VNA
