The second Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam ministerial meeting on anti-crime cooperation took place in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on July 29, the Quan doi Nhan dan (People’s Army) newspaper reported.

The event saw the attendance of Vietnamese Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs Sar Kheng, and Lao Acting Security Minister Somkeo Silavong.

At the conference, the ministers signed a joint statement on crime prevention cooperation, focusing on enhancing coordination in addressing issues emerging when a citizen of one country resides in another.

The sides will promote investment and tourism activities, share experience in crime combat and entry-exit control, and strengthen collaboration in ensuring security and order in border areas and the Development Triangle Area.

They will step up communication campaigns to encourage their people to seriously abide by agreements on border and border management regulations as well as fight against schemes and activities to sabotage the fine traditional friendship and neighbourliness among the three Indochinese nations.-VNA
