Vietnam and Laos will cooperate in conducting surveys on gypsum deposits in Tung village, Sebangphay district, Khammuone province of Laos under a contract signed in Vientiane on March 16.

Signatories were Thongmy Phomvisay, Lao Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment and Le Dinh Tu, director of the Lao-Vietnam Minerals Cooperation Company Ltd.

The 700,000 USD project will explore an area of over 4.7 sq. km, which is believed to house a 2.2 million tonnes reserve of gypsum./.
