VN, Laos strengthen defence cooperation links

The Committees for National Defence and Security of the Vietnamese and Lao National Assemblies held talks in Vietnam’s central coastal city of Da Nang on Sept. 13.
The Committees for National Defence and Security of the Vietnamese andLao National Assemblies held talks in Vietnam’s central coastal city ofDa Nang on Sept. 13.

This was the first meeting between the two committees in the new tenure of the two National Assemblies.

The two sides briefed each other on each country’s socio-economicdevelopment as well as national defence and security situations, whileexchanging information and experience in organisation and operation ofthe two committees.

While discussing issues of mutual concern, they reached consensus on a cooperation programme during this tenure.

International and regional issues were also put on the table at the meeting./.

Top legislator meets with King of Thailand in Hanoi

The top Vietnamese legislator and Thai King said the two countries share many similarities in history, culture and social life, and have favourable conditions for strengthening exchanges and sharing experience. They emphasised that the close bonds between the two peoples are an important foundation for the sustainable development of Vietnam–Thailand cooperation.
