VN-Laos Telecoms connect schools to Internet

Unitel, a joint deal between the Laos Asia Telecoms Company and Vietnam ’s military telecom group, Viettel, will connect 1,295 schools in Laos to the Internet.

The agreement was signed by Uniteland the Laotian Education Ministry on July 14.

Unitel’s ViceDirector General Kongphet Nhongvongsitthi said that the project willhelp Laotian pupils and students, especially those in rural and remoteareas.

Unitel will provide transmission lines and modemsto connect the schools to the Internet from July 2010 to July 2015.

Atpresent, Unitel is the largest telecoms service provider in Laos ,having about 1,200 transmission stations, close to 11,000 km of opticcable, and more than 1 million subscribers./.

Vietnam's Z121 Vina Pyrotech impressed spectators at Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2026 with a display deeply rooted in national identity. Excavation for war remains begins in Quang Ngai

Y Ngoc, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee and head of the provincial Steering Committee for the search, recovery and identification of martyrs’ remains, said the mission aims to conduct definitive excavation and verification to bring home the remains of martyrs from Regiment 24A, the B3 Front, Special Forces Battalion 406, and Infantry Battalion 304, who fell during the 1968 Tet Offensive.

Four Vietnamese universities rise in global rankings
