Vietnam is taking part the 14 th Jakarta International Handicraft Trade Fair (INACRAFT 2012), at Jakarta Convention Centre in Indonesia from April 25-30.

The fair sees the participation of about 1,800 enterprises from more than 40 countries around the world.

Speaking at the opening, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono highlighted the importance of the creative and craft industries, saying the industries not only contribute to national income and create jobs but also help to protect traditional handicrafts in the country.

He said the Indonesian government will continue supporting small and medium enterprises in the country to enhance their competitive export ability.

Held annually since 1999, INACRAFT gathers suppliers, distributors and customers for the development of Indonesia ’s handicraft industries.

This year’s six-day fair is expected to lure more than 250,000 visitors.-VNA
