Vietnamese Ambassador Duong Chi Dung on Jan. 10 presented his credentials to Portuguese President Anibal Cavaco Silva in Paris.

Speaking at a reception for Dung following the presentation ceremony, President Anibal Cavaco Silva expressed fine sentiment of Portuguese people toward the nation and people of Vietnam. He spoke highly of the impressive achievements of Vietnam during the past years.

The President also conveyed his hope that the Vietnam- Portugal bilateral relations will be further developed in both width and depth, enhancing cooperation of the two countries basing on each country’s strengths.

Ambassador Dung said Vietnam always values the cooperative relations between the two countries during the past years, hoping that the relations will be foster in various fields, particularly in economic and trade.

On the occasion, Dung conveyed an invitation to visit Vietnam from President Truong Tan Sang to President Anibal Cavaco Silva.

On the same day, Ambassador Dung also met with the Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Defence and leaders of Ministry of Economy, Labour, Transport, Public Works and Communications and other agencies./.
