A music show named “The road to glory” took place in Hanoi on Nov. 4 to congratulate the Vietnamese sports team on participating in the 26 th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 26) in Indonesia.

Opening the event, coaches and athletes offered incenses to President Ho Chi Minh, a national hero who paid special attention to the national sporting movement when he was alive.

Nguyen Manh Hung, Director of the National Centre for Sports Training in Hanoi said that this event is a gift of significance to athletes, encouraging them to do their utmost in the tournament.

On Nov. 5, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the General Department of Sports and Physical Training and the HCM City People’s Committee hosted a ceremony to see off Vietnam’s SEA Games 26 squad in the southern region.

Speaking at the event, Lam Quang Thanh, Deputy Head of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training and Head of the Vietnamese delegation to SEA Games 26, on behalf of all athletes voiced their determination to bring victories to the nation.

SEA Games 26 will be held in Palembang and Jakarta cities from Nov. 11-22 with athletes from 11 countries in the Southeast Asian region taking part.

More than 600 Vietnamese athletes are set to compete in 37 events./.
