VN to open consulate general in New York

The US’s Department of State has permitted Vietnam to open a consulate general in New York, following an agreement between the US and Vietnam’s leaders.
The US’s Department of State has permitted Vietnam to open a consulate general in New York, following an agreement between the US and Vietnam’s leaders.

The two sides are carrying out procedures and preparing necessary conditions for the inauguration, according to the Vietnamese embassy in the US.

The consulate general in New York will be Vietnam’s fourth diplomatic agency in the US, after the embassy established in Washington D.C in 1995, and consulate generals in San Francisco, California in 1997 and in Houston, Texas in 2009./.
