The Vietnam News Agency (VNA)’s Fund for Agent Orange (AO) Victims on April 17 presented over 30 million VND (1,400 USD) to an AO suffer in the northern province of Bac Giang to help her build her own house.

The house will be built for 33-year-old Hoang Thi Uyen in Cam Trang village, Mai Trung commune, Hiep Hoa district, who acquired the deadly toxin from his father.

With the aim of alleviating the plight of AO victims and calling for support of organisations and individuals both at home and abroad, the VNA set up the fund in 2006.

Since its inception, the fund has presented hundreds of gifts and more than 50 houses worth over 5 billion VND to families in difficulties in many localities nationwide.

Dong Khanh Vinh, Chairman of the Bac Giang Association of Victims of Agent Organge/Dioxin, expressed his hope that the agency will conduct more activities in support of AO victims in Bac Giang and across the country.
