Vietnam News Agency (VNA) General Director Nguyen Duc Loi has pledged that VNA will continue boosting ties with the Lao news agency KPL, contributing to further consolidating the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

During a November 18 meeting with Lao Deputy Prime Minister Asang Laoli as part of his ongoing visit to Laos from November 14-19, the VNA chief stressed that the agency attaches much importance to cooperation with KPL in its external policies.

Briefing his host on the outcomes of the talks between VNA and KPL, he noted that in 2013, the two agencies have worked closely and effectively in all fields, including exchanges of delegations, reporters as well as information.

Speaking highly of VNA’s cooperation with and support to KPL over the decades, Deputy PM Asang Laoli emphasised that the Vietnam-Laos special friendship has been deepened in all fields, thus mass media in general and the two news agencies in particular, should exert more efforts to help people of both countries get a deeper understanding of the friendship and work more closely to maintain the ties for younger generations.

He suggested that the two sides continue their close coordination and mutual support, especially in information, technology and personnel training, thus completing the tasks assigned by the two Parties and States.

The same day, General Director Loi also met with Bosengkham Vongdala, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism.
