The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) has presented Tet gifts, worth 280 million VND, to Agent Orange (AO) victims.
The VNA’s Fund for AO Victims in coordination with its Hanoi bureau on February 10 handed over 10 presents each worth 500,000 VND to AO victims in the city’s Cau Giay, Thanh Xuan, Hoang Mai and Hai Ba Trung districts.
Apart from gifts for AO victims in 36 cities and provinces, the fund also provided two houses and nine wheelchairs to AO victims in Hanoi, the central city of Da Nang, the central province of Quang Tri and the northern province of Nam Dinh.
On the same day, it handed over donations to five AO victims’ families with special difficulties in Dong Xoai town, Binh Phuoc province, raising the total number of local families receiving gifts from VNA’s fund to 20.
According to President of the Binh Phuoc’s Association of Agent Orange Victims Bui Xuan Kim, the province has over 4,000 AO victims, most of them are living with difficult conditions./.
