Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Emulation and Rewards on January 6 signed an agreement on cooperation in communication campaigns on patriotic emulation movements.

The cooperation aims to strongly promote the combined strength of the great national unity bloc and internal forces, contributing to successfully implementing the 2011-2015 socio-economic development plan.

Under the agreement, the news agency and the commission will step up communication campaigns on the guidelines of the Party and the State’s policies and laws on emulation and rewards, the country’s renewal process, and examples in patriotic emulation movements in combination with studying and following the moral example of President Ho Chi Minh.

VNA’s television channel, Vnews, and other information units of the agency are responsible for developing programmes honouring outstanding collectives and individuals.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi affirmed that the agency has always paid attention to emulation and rewards work, especially building result-oriented emulation movements and honouring staff with excellent achievements.

Running all types of media, ranging from print, video and photo to e-newspapers, VNA has attached importance to popularising national emulation movements and published many books on good examples, he said.

He stressed that the agency wishes to continue receiving support and guidance from the commission in order to better implement its emulation and rewards work in the future.

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Tran Thi Ha, head of the commission, expressed her wish that VNA will increase the popularisation of emulation movements and good examples in the most effective and practical manner.

Also at the event, Deputy Minister Ha presented the Labour Order and the Prime Minister’s certificates of merit to VNA’s outstanding units and individuals.-VNA
