The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) will issue three more bilingual versions of its Dan Toc va Mien Nui (Nationalities and Mountain) pictorial magazine for ethnic minority readers as from 2015.

Under a plan which was approved by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam on July 7, the agency will publish 18,000 copies of the magazine each month, comprising of 2,500 copies in Vietnamese-Tay, 14,000 in Vietnamese-Xe Dang and 1,500 in Vietnamese-Co Tu ethnic minority readers.

The monthly bilingual magazine is currently published in eight ethnic minority languages, which are Khmer, Bhana, Jrai, Ede, Cham, Mong, K’ho and M’nong in parallel with Vietnamese.

With rich news looking at the socio-political situation and poverty reduction across the country, the magazine is designed specifically for ethnic minority groups in over 40 northern, Central Highlands and southwestern provinces.-VNA
