A senior-level delegation from the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) met with the Korean Internet and Security Agency (KISA) and the national television KBS in Seoul on April 21 to discuss working together in internet and security and TV services.

The VNA delegation, headed by Deputy General Director Nguyen Hoai Duong, is in the Republic of Korea (RoK) to attend the Summit of the Organisation of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA).

KISA President Kim Hee Jung praised VNA’s model of a multi-functional media consortium and said he hoped to work alongside the VNA when carrying out future projects.

KISA asked the VNA to produce joint television programmes with Vietnamese sub-titles, as well as cooperate closer in information technology as the VNA is preparing to launch a TV channel.

On the occasion, KISA presented the VNA with some programmes depicting RoK culture, customs and daily life that KISA produced in 2009.

Over the past 10 years, KISA has researched and supported the development of modern multimedia models, which combine television and the Internet through Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) to provide multi-utility services.

The KISA models are two-way interaction services between provider and audiences and can be applied to the fields of education, healthcare as well as culture and entertainments./.
