A collection of about 150 photographs selected from the archives of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) are on display at an exhibition entitled “Bien dao To quoc” (Homeland’s Sea and Islands) in central Da Nang city.

The exhibition, which opened at Da Nang Museum on October 19, is jointly sponsored by the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and Vietsovpetro, a joint venture between Vietnam and Russia, and will run through October 24.

The photos are among thousands of works by generations of VNA journalists, who have travelled across the country to capture moments of life both in war and in peace.

Highlights are images depicting soldiers guarding Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago and children eager to go to school in the islands. The journalists also caught moments of fishermen puling in their nets in early morning and bustling fish markets at the end of the day, among many others.

The exhibition aims to pay tribute to the people who have sacrificed their lives to protect the seas and islands of Vietnam.-VNA
