The Tin Tuc daily newspaper of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) will be printed in the Republic of Korea (RoK) to be delivered free of charge to Vietnamese people who are living in the country.
To this effect, an information cooperation agreement was signed between the VNA and the NongHyup Bank of the RoK in Hanoi on July 4.
Addressing the signing ceremony, VNA Deputy General Director Le Duy Truyen emphasised the significance of the cooperation in popularising official information on Vietnam to the Vietnamese community abroad, especially those in the RoK.
“Printing and releasing free of charge the Tin Tuc daily, an information channel of the Vietnamese Government, in the RoK is in line with NongHyup Bank’s expectations and the VNA’s development policy,” he said.
It will help Vietnamese in the RoK and Koreans who are interested in Vietnam better their understanding about the country’s situation through the most truthful, timely and diverse information provided by the newspaper, he added.
The VNA leader said he hopes that the agreement will help tighten the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the RoK in all fields as well as bridge Vietnamese living in the RoK and those in the homeland.
He asked Tin Tuc and VNA bureau in Seoul to coordinate with NongHyun Bank’s branches to effectively distributing the daily.
Chief Representative of NongHyup Bank in Hanoi Lee Woo Sik said the bank’s cooperation with Tin Tuc, a prestigious newspaper in Vietnam, is a very meaningful deed.
Through the agreement, information on Vietnam will come to overseas Vietnamese in the most prompt and reliable manner, he said, adding this is a food for their mind.
Together with the Vietnam-Korea Times, the first Korean language newspaper in Vietnam, the release of Tin Tuc daily in the RoK will enhance information links between the two peoples as well as tighten Vietnam-RoK friendship and cooperation.-VNA
