Both Vietnam and Germany have found that the two nations still have many potentials to further develop federal- and state-level relations as well as ties between their parties, said a senior official.

Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai made the statement at a meeting on Sept. 7 with the staff of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Frankfurt/Main during his working visit to Germany.

While in Germany, Hai met with Joerg-Uwe Hahn, Vice Governor and Minister for Justice of Hessen state; Roland Koch, former Governor of Hessen state and former Vice President of Christian Democratic Union, and Dr. Herbert Hirschler, President of Friedrich-Naumann Institute

The deputy prime minister said he hoped that German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s upcoming visit to Vietnam would reap fine results, helping lift Vietnam – Germany relations to a new height.

Newly-appointed Consul General Truong Xuan Thanh and former Consul General Nguyen Huu Trang informed of the Consulate General’s development and promised to do their best to fulfill their tasks./.
