Hanoi (VNA) – The benchmark VN-Index ended in green on May 13 when it grew by 5.99 points, or 0.63 percent, from the last trading session of the previous week to 958.54 points.

On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE), 162 stocks recorded price increases, while 128 others experienced declines. More than 232 million shares worth over 4.52 trillion VND (193.73 million USD) were traded.

The market was supported by such stocks as VNM (up 2.9 percent), VRE (1.8 percent), BVH (3.8 percent), HVN (2.6 percent), VIC (0.2 percent), and VJC (0.5 percent).

Bank stocks with price rises dwarfed those with decreases. They included BID (up 2.2 percent), VCB (0.5 percent), CTG (0.7 percent), and TCB (0.2 percent).

In contrast, some stocks dropped sharply, hampering the market’s uptrends, such as HPG (down 2.4 percent), GAS (1.2 percent), MSN (0.8 percent), NVL (0.3 percent), and DHG (0.7 percent).

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), the HNX-Index ended at 105.61 points, down 0.24 point or 0.23 percent. Seventy-five stocks increased, while 69 stocks fell.

More than 43.7 million shares worth over 636 billion VND were traded on the HNX. –VNA
