World No.14 Minh is seeded No.2 in the tournament after Japanese player Kenichi Tago, who is currently world No.7.
Based on the draw results, Minh is predicted to progress to the quarter-finals where he will meet No.6 seed Wong Wing Ki of Hong Kong. In the semi-finals, he could face world No.21 Tommy Sugiarto from Indonesia .
Vu Thi Trang from Bac Giang province is not so fortunate in the women's singles draw, facing No.3 seed Yip Pui Yin of Hong Kong in the first round.-VNA
