Vietnamese-Ukrainian trade ties have seen remarkable developments recently, Yevhen Prypik, Ukraine commercial counselor in Vietnam, has said.

The counselor made the remark while attending a promotion programme to introduce the Ukrainian market to Ho Chi Minh City on July 20. The Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) and the Rainbow Trade Promotion Centre (Rainbow) jointly hosted the event.

Vu The Hoang, Rainbow Deputy Director, said Ukraine is an emerging market for Vietnamese goods with increasing demand and consumption.

According to Vietnamese enterprises, Vietnam ’s goods have won favour in the Ukrainian market, especially seafood products, pepper, rice, garment and textile products and footwear.

Last year, the two-way trade turnover between the countries reached almost 300 million USD.

Prypik suggested that the two countries further strengthen cooperation in trade and investment to match their development potential.

In order to assist domestic businesses to increase exports to the markets, Rainbow has conducted market research surveys, product promotions, and provided information on procedures for organising exhibitions and setting up branches and representative offices in the country, Hoang added.-VNA
