The Vietnam Volleyball Federation has offered a bonus of 500 million VND to any Vietnamese team winning a gold medal in the 27th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 27) this year while silver medal winners will receive 300 million VND.

SEA Games volleyball competition begins on December 13 and concludes on December 21.

At the last SEA Games held in Jakarta two years ago, the men's team went home empty-handed, while the women team won a silver medal.

At the end of December 12, Vietnam enlarged its medal purse to 16 gold medals, ranking second on the tally after the host Myanmar (21 golds). Indonesia was placed third with 10 golds.

Vietnam sent a combined team of 750 athletes and officials to the Games, where they compete in 29 of 33 sports events at the tournament, hoping to bring home at least 70 gold medals.

At the 26th SEA Games, Vietnam ranked third, winning 96 gold medals, trailing the host Indonesia with 182 and Thailand with 109.-VNA
