Voters have expressed their satisfaction with the outcomes of the legislature’s sixth session during meetings with provincial National Assembly deputies on December 4.

Voters from the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai said the legislature reached decisions on many important issues to facilitate the country’s development, including the amended Constitution and eight laws.

They proposed more preferential policies be offered to the elderly, stricter punishments given to repeat violators and more jobs generated for Yen Bai-born graduates.

Many in Van Lang commune, Yen Binh district, suggested more investment in rural road building, management of fertilizer prices and higher allowances for retired communal officials.

Voters in the central province of Binh Dinh described the approval of the revised Constitution as the session’s greatest success.

The fight against corruption and wastefulness, social welfare policies, especially those targeting people in remote and flood-hit areas, as well as the protection of national sovereignty over sea and islands were also among issues of voters’ interests.

Members of the public from the central province of Quang Ngai agreed that the adoption of the revised Constitution and the Land Law (amended) has met requirements in building a law-governed State, the development of the socialist-oriented market economy and national construction and protection in the new period.

Voters in Tinh Tho commune, Son Tinh district, asked the National Assembly, Government and Quang Ngai province to heed land allocation and job creation for people affected by the Da Nang-Quang Ngai Highway and the VSIP industrial, urban and service zone.

They expressed their hope that the State will help farmers in capital and market in production and breeding.

Others in Hanh Nhan commune, Nghia Hanh district, called on the legislature and Government to roll out measures to curb traffic accidents and preferential policies towards people who rendered service to the revolution. -VNA
